C4 DM, What Sway Bar?

I have the C4 DM installed and was running the stock C4 sway bar, but the tie rods are hit the end links, so I can't get the full steering sweep. I had the sway bar mounted as far back on the frame as possible. There is very little room to fit the end links in there without them hitting either the spring or the tie-rods
For those that have the C4 DM and a sway bar what are you running and where is it mounted?
I was looking at using a speedway sway bar with some custom arms, but thought I would see what others have done first.

Re: C4 DM, What Sway Bar?

The Speedway Bar was going to be my recommendation. We never got around to fitting a "production" sway bar on the C4 front end, and not sure when this will be something I get around to anytime soon. We don't sell a high volume of the C4 Dropmembers, and unfortunately, other items have always seemed to take priority over fitting a sway bar.

Keep us posted on what you use.

Re: C4 DM, What Sway Bar?

Great question Wild83C10. I also have the C4 DM but I haven't gotten to the point of mounting a sway bar. Please update us on anything new you find and I will do the same.

Re: C4 DM, What Sway Bar?

I guess I will be the guinea pig on this one. Ill call speedway on Monday to discuss the sway bar rate. The sway bar arms will need to be a custom length and custom bent.
My rate may be different than others as I'm switching to a 600 in/lb spring from an 800. Going to try light springs and big sway bar.

Re: C4 DM, What Sway Bar?

Dont have the C4 dropmember, but do have C4 suspension - i used the speedway bar and custom bent arms. That was the only way I could figure out to make it work. I went with the .120 wall, but figured it would be cheap enough to swap out if it wasn't enough.

Thanks for the info. Where did you end up mounting your bar? How long where the arms?

Re: C4 DM, What Sway Bar?

effective length of the arms ended up being right at 7", I'll snap a picture today and post it up when I get a chance.

Re: C4 DM, What Sway Bar?

Thanks for the info and picture. I wonder how much the arm bent in that fashion affects the sway bar rate. That arm will probably deflect a bit.

Re: C4 DM, What Sway Bar?

I dont think there is going to be any deflection as the arm is solid steel and heavy. On speedways site they have a chart showing effective rate depending on arm length for each sway bar thickness.
