bucket seats what year?
My friend bought a set of bucket seats yesterday. We are curious what year they are and what they come out of. Appears to have blazer brackets and they have the panel on back like blazers. They just seem wider for some reason. Any help is greatly appreciated!

Re: bucket seats what year?
Looks like maybe 73-@76 blazer seats. If the are, with a few mods 69-72 seat covers will work. Good Seats!!!!!! They could be 69-70 or 71-72 blazer seats recovered too.

Re: bucket seats what year?
Look like 73-75 blazer buckets. I have a pair. The way to tell is in the height of the brackets and the back seat part. Very close to 71-72 buckets and the bottom (seat) foam is actually the same.

Re: bucket seats what year?
thanks guys I appreciate the help. He got them for 150 with console so he was very happy. You mentioned modifying them to use 72 covers. Could you go into more detail?

Re: bucket seats what year?
Not a whole lot Like mentioned, the bottoms should be exact. The foam on the backs are cut a little different. These were out of a 75 truck and the upholstry guy did the work. Someone else around here may have some more details. These have correct 72 truck brackets.

Re: bucket seats what year?
I ended up buying these seats and console from my friend today. I was curious if the brackets for 72 will fit these seats? Right now it has blazer brackets and the passenger seat will fold forward. Also curious if i will have to cut extra holes in my floor to fit the buckets as it originall had a bench.

Re: bucket seats what year?
the folding fwd is a nice (blazer) feature that folks like to install on their truck seats - so might consider leaving them there. Easy access to stuff under/behind seat, etc. And, I always thought they looked a little better than the big slab-o-metal truck passenger brackets - but, they BOTH look good and buckets rock!
Someone else will need to answer the hole question - although I think the "common" mounting point is the forward, outboard bolt on both sides is the common one to start from (i.e. common with the bench) so that you have proper side-side spacing and room for the console. Here's a GREAT thread on the topic by mcbassin: http://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/s...d.php?t=516328 |

Re: bucket seats what year?
anyone know if the seat brackets are the same for 72 and the 73 seats I have? I was thinking of replacing them. Also any opinions on houndstooth or straight black like the ones posted above?

Re: bucket seats what year?
I ended up bringing these home today. I have purchased 72 bucket covers for them. I was going to clean up the hardware and get them ready for upholstery to cover. Anyone know what brackets these are? Should I use these or order 72 for them in your opinion? I know the passenger will fold forward and the driver will slide front and back.

Re: bucket seats what year?
Those brackets look correct for a 71-72 Blazer. A pick of the rear of the passenger seat bracket will tell for sure.
Jonathan has a nice comparison in his post. http://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/s...47&postcount=4 |
