What's your ride height.
Meaning how far is your frame off the ground when your cruising around. I need to figure this out before I back half the frame. My pro-street build is getting back underway. I want it to sit low but be able to drive over speed bumps with out dragging. So what is a practical frame height to shoot for.
Thanks Curtis

Re: What's your ride height.
Im bagged with a crossmember and 4 link out back, so for me it depends on the road. Sometimes its literally scraping along, other its higher. But I will say that for longer trips, or unfamiliar roads, I ride with about a 4.5 to 5 inch ride height. Is nice and low, tucks a little tire, but I don't get hung up on anything. Others with a static drop may want to chime in though.

Re: What's your ride height.
I have a static drop on my 72, 4 1/2" front and a flip kit for about 6" in the rear. I havn't had any problems with the front crossmember hitting the ground, and it does sit very low in the front. But if you are running full tube headers like me you can expect those to hit sometimes. My header collectors are the lowest point on my truck and they are between 2" and 3" off of the ground sitting at ride height. I can hear the collectors kick up rocks on my dads gravel road! Hope this helps out. Joseph

Re: What's your ride height.
i am in georgia and have worked in the hwy dept in the past.the standard hear for speed bumps is about 4 inches at the thickest point although i have seen up to 6 inches in private locations such as apartment complexes etc.the standard here for speed humps is 6 inch but they are alot longer and easier to go over with a low ride.i would recommend your lowest point to be 4.5 to 5 inches at its lowest point for a static drop.i have air for the this very reason

Re: What's your ride height.
Thanks for the replies guys. So it looks like I'm gonna shoot for 5" ground clearance. The roads around here are pretty bad in some places.
Thanks Curtis
