I used to get these dumb e-mails every time i put a car or truck on craigslist. I don't even check them anymore! I just listed a 94 Camaro i have yesterday morning and i'm sure i have 3 or 4 of these scams in my inbox right now! Joseph

At one time i had an Screwbay Store & would purposely mess with them & follow through with sales i have $7,500 in phony money orders

Whenever I list something major for sale on CL and get an odd response. I usually respond by asking for a phone number and telling them that their IP address is being recorded for his and my protection. Needless to say, they never respond back.

Ironically, I only list my phone # and no email address...it totally cuts down on the B.S. I use my cell and NEVER my home #. People are annoying.

YTou would be surprised that people actually for the scams that are out there. I have been working with an elderly lady (70'ish) who has fallen for the "send us money and we will send you your lottery winnings" scam. No matter what I tell her and what literature I show her, I cannot convince her it is a scam. She has sent then over $20,000 already. It is really sad!

That is sad. I have an acquaintance who finally had to take control of his grandfather's finances because the poor lost gent fell for many of these "securities" scams. Through the course of over a handful of incidents he had been taken just shy of $80,000 last we chatted. Pity.
