More electrical aarrrggghh

Hi guys, I have been trying to find more info on situations like the ground wire on one of my saddle tanks is broken, what does this affect? All these electrical glitches are keeping me from really enjoying my truck. Wires all over the place that look like someone used a cheese grater on them. If anyone can tell me where to find a good book like electrical for dummies I'd asppreciate it.

Thanks again
JR

What year of truck is it? That would help about. Go get a wiring diagram and it will show u where everything goes. I got mine off of all data and at the library; I went through all their books till I found what I was looking for. And that wire, if it is not hook up the gauge won’t work right.

Is that all it would do is stop the gauge from workin, my passanger tank gauge works but if it flips to driver side it stops working, my fuel selector valve crapped out and now I'm only running my drivers side tank and my wires sound the same as yours, mabey that's what's wrong with mine too

That could be, I have found more wires that look like they were grated with a damn cheese grater, and the ground wire on my drivers side is broken trying to decide if dropping the tank is easier than moving the bed out of the way to get at the sending unit

sounds like you need some decon mice and other critters borrow wire insulation all the time but they never return it I cant count how many cars ive seen with electrical and diagnostic night mares caused by animals chewing on wires
