Shorter than SWB Frame??

I've searched around trying to find people who have shortened their LWB more than 20". I know about the 12" in the middle and 8" off the back, but what about those that are going even shorter? Where are you taking it out of and is it better to move the trailing arms outside the frame, move the cross member forward with SWB trailing arms or just make short ones? TIA.

Just curious why you would want to go shorter?

I would take it out of the middle.
Even 2wd blazers with their short wheelbase,... still have standard length trailing arms.
(Also,... all trailing arms are the same length, regardless of swb or lwb)

Thanks, I saw another thread where the trailing arms are the same length, it's just the location of the cross member in the frame.

As far as why I want to, it's just for fun. I have a LWB parts truck that I'm trying to figure out something fun to do with. I'm thinking along the lines of lighter, street driven, mainly doing 50-150 pulls. I haven't researched wheelbase length of cars like Vettes, F-bodies, etc, to see how a 104" WB compares.

Re: Shorter than SWB Frame??

I really wish there were more details on that 67.. Nice looking truck and that's the plan for mine as soon as I wrap up other projects.
