LQ9 Misfire Code??
HI,
just going through the formal camshaft break-in and I'm getting a code on my code reader that says "cylinder 6 misfire detected". Now, the engine sounds okay, but I haven't taken the truck in for a final PCM tune yet.... I'm wondering should I continue the break-in process and see what happens, or should I stop completely??? I have the truck booked in for the exhaust to get done tomorrow .... wondering if I would be okay to drive it there to finish that then worry about the misfire? I'm unclear how much concern I should be paying to this code in an LS engine at this pioint before the final tune?? Thanks for your suggestions.

Check for spark & injector pulse on #6, Check for a cracked spark plug. Open headers/big cam can cause a P0300 multible misfire code. But not certain cylinder misfires unless its actually misfiring on that cylinder. P0306 is the misfire code for cylinder #6. |

Re: LQ9 Misfire Code??
Thanks Cline!! I will definitely keep my eye on that. Tat's a good tip on the cylinder # verses the code number, I didn't know that either!
I wasn't sure about the break-in either on the roller cam but I thought what the heck, may as well run it for a while with open headers & annoy my crazy neighbor and see if he calls by-law on me tonight. lol I checked my plug wires and #6 was loose. Duh!! Pushed it back on and no more codes. Someday I will learn!
