I have Grundy on my 40 Ford and they say you're only supposed to drive it to automotive gatherings. I asked about a policy for my Longhorn and I wasn't real happy with what they offered me. I'm shopping now too.

Just insured my 83 C-10 with Hagerty today ...10K value , 0 deductible full coverage $234.00 a year, added a 78 Dodge shorty custom cargo van 4K value same coverage for an extra $53.00 year......good people to work with !....

I told them I only drive it 5K or less a year but they don't ask for odometer readings and I have my daily drivers insured elsewhere they ask for proof of that..... so they know it's not drivin daily....I have used them for muscle cars etc. that I have owned over the years.........

I haven't put a vehicle on a stated value policy yet and don't know what market is, but that price wouldn't offend me.

You guys keep saying stated value policies, but Haggerty, Grundy, Heackock are typically agreed value policies.

The specialty coverage through State Farm and other big name insurance companies are usually stated value policies.

Agreed Value = you and the insurance company agree on the value of the vehicle and they use that value to determine if the vehicle is a total loss when you make a claim or pay you that value if it is a total loss.

Stated Value = you state what you think the vehicle is worth and if there is ever a total loss/claim the insurance company decides what they think it's worth. From what I've read they're not necessarily bound to the amount you state.

Make sure you know what you're getting and that you're actually covered for your investment.

Thanks for clearing that up. I would have asked for stated value thinking I had the terms of agreed value.

I just got Hagerty insurance today on my 65. Full coverage for a year was only 280. No deductible on collision or comprehensive. Outstanding deal!

When I got the truck I insured it with my primary company (Farm Bureau) and just for liability it cost 22.00 a month.

So full coverage was just as cheap with Hagerty. You just have to have a daily driver vehicle insured.

Very painless process to get the insurance.

After loosing my 90 crew cab short box 5.3 4l60 in a huge shop fire, I maxed out insurance on my 1991 burb, insured for appraised value.
Crappy part is up dating the appraisal after modifications.
