71 lq4
Putting in a LQ4 6.0 into my 71 C-10. My question is will I gain or lose power by running true duels or a two into one exhaust. I know on my Harley i gain by the two into one, but not sure about the truck. When I bought the motor it came with Sanderson Ceramic coated block hugger headers, with a custom made cross over makeing it a single exhaust.

Re: 71 lq4
What size pipes is it? Yes, generally going from a 2into1 to true duals...most people say they feel they have lost some low end grunt. Add an x-pipe and the lower end seems so come back.

Re: 71 lq4
Thanks Kurt. I haven't gotten far enough in this project to begine to think about pipe Dia. I do know it's about time to start a build thread. Up to this point all the pics look just like the rest. But now I'm putting the frame back together (striped down sand blasted, powder coated silver, with ccp grand slam kit, drilled and sloted front disc with braided lines. Tubular trans mount, engine purches and poly everything. The motor has been boared .020 over, with Comp cams, new roller rockers. I had a 700r4 build with shift kit, heavy duty sink, and a 2200 stall. both engine and trans are painted PPG'S "Cooperhead". The cab is almost ready to be reunited with the frame. It was from Ark. but has had the normal stuff replaced etc etc. Man I've got to get thie pics up
