73-80 Billet Hood Hinges

Curious as to how many people out there in the group would be interested in billet hood hinge assemblies to fit the 73-80 square body trucks.

I am currently having a custom set developed for my project, but thinking that once the development part is over that the same part could produced for others out there looking for the same thing!

No ideas on cost yet, but would imagine that they would run about the same as many of the ones for the 67-72's do.

They'd be pretty nice. Add a lil something special under the hood.

Very nice!!! Pretty much looking for something a lot like that for my hood hinges as well. They have the factory ones now & should be starting on them soon!

Well, as you know the hood & how it mounts all changed in '81, so the ones I am having built wouldn't work out for yours...

Re: 73-80 Billet Hood Hinges

i have to say i would be interested and think they would look great under my hood. they would be even a greater buy if they helped with hard closing and the common hood bending problems associated with 73 - 80 chevys and gmcs when original hinges get older and stiff. Do you have any idea on approximate cost?

Nothing on estimated cost yet, they have to do all the measuring & modeling before they can provide me with a quote.

Re: 73-80 Billet Hood Hinges

Would be interested in these later on. NOS hinges are running out of supply, and NO aftermarket hinges I've found are better than the worn out hinges I'm trying to replace...

I'd want them not so much for the looks or cool factor (which is nice!) but as a source of quality hinges, in and of itself.

Cool product. These have been showing up in muscle car builds for the last few years. The $600-700.00 it takes to buy them puts me out of the market.

ouch! if they could get them for $200 to $250 I might would do it, but I can't give 600-700 for them.

I don't know what the OP can build them for but I have to assume it will be close to others on the market. Just a few samples

On the 67-72 if you could make firewall mount ones that would help a ton of people have bag there trucks.

Re: 73-80 Billet Hood Hinges

Ok, finally got word from Jesse...

They were measuring the stock hinges yesterday & expect to have some sort of a quote to me today on what it's going to cost to build these things. Am hoping that they also supply some sort of computer 3D model of what it will look like as well, but have to wait & see I guess.

Will let you guys know what I find out!

Did you ever get an answer on this? I know you are putting your project on hold, just want sure what the results were on the hinges.
