Re: my very first rebuild 66 gmc/chevrolet truck
Well i want a short stepside kind of and want to change to swing arm rearend some day because to lower the tail itll take flipping the rearend.. dont want that yet and ill explain that later. I havent figured out that front bumper yet but i do know my front end is out from un a 70 to 73 chevy truck because i just changed out the ball joints about a month ago. Thanks man i love that year for the 4 headlights i just think 4 is better than 2 lol.

I can help you out in the cluster department. I have a spare one I can send you, with the wiring harness. It's just an idiot light cluster, but it's in pretty good shape. I can probably send you a few switches along with it too (lights, wiper). I can't imagine it would cost more than $20 to ship, and it isn't doing anyone any good just sitting around in my garage. Shoot me a pm with your address and we'll getcha set up. Oh yeah - almost for got to say: Nice Truck! Love the father / daughter shot too! |

Re: my very first rebuild 66 gmc/chevrolet truck
Yes thats very thin sheetmetal... used my old gauge frame, that homemade job that it came with.. as a pattern taped it to the board and a vice to hold steady. With a dremel began the cutting!

Re: my very first rebuild 66 gmc/chevrolet truck
That is using your noodle! maybe use a thin piece of plywood behind that nice sheetmetal, might give it strength.

Re: my very first rebuild 66 gmc/chevrolet truck
I really do like the splotchy look of your truck.
Maybe it's the Black on Red. Either way, I like it:

Re: my very first rebuild 66 gmc/chevrolet truck
Yes thats exactly my plan bud! A thin piece to mount it to then set inside the original gauge casing and then surround it with the original bezel. I love working on my truck and trying new things that may look cool but save bucks. This months hot rod magazine built not bought great examples. Anyways thanks again guys for all your support and enthusiasm!
