You don't have to know the exact year to be able to get parts for it. All truck 12 bolt parts are interchangeable. Buying parts for a Chevy isn't like buying parts for a Ford, where you need to know the day of the week it was made
 The 5 lug bolt pattern started in '71. If you want to know the year, pull the cover and look at the date stamped on the ring gear. I can tell you though that the HA code is a 373 ratio open diff.There is a thread here somewhere with a bunch of differential codes in it.
