Make sure you use the copper line it seem's to hold up the best or the braided line work's well too.

make sure you tighten properly, or else you will have a mess of oil in your carpet that will never seem to come out.

Thats reminds me of the time I had a loose fitting going into the oil pressure gauge. And there was a very slow drip...right onto the gas pedal. Thats one of the strangest sensations I've ever encountered. My foot kept slipping off the pedal!

I was driving a Ford Transit Van (UK Model) at work a few years back when my foot kept slipping on the uncarpeted floor, I thought someone had spilt some oil on it, until I put my hand down and felt the heat! It turned out the exhaust was blowing straight onto the floor pan (I was screaming up the motorway (freeway) at the time and it was actually the soles of my shoes melting on the floor making them slip!

Is there a new aftermarket line to go from the block to the line that goes to the pressure guage. I am referring to the one that is coiled for vibration. Also what about the line from the guage that exits the firewall?

70 longbed,

Paragon has them. Try this link. I would suggest getting their catalog as it is a nice wish book and there are other parts that you may be looking for in the catalog.

I broke the copper & the plastic lines. The vibes will eventually break off both. I got a couple of -3 to pipethread adaptors & a pre-made section of -3 line from summit (russell i believe). It will last forever, look cool & never give you grief. The guy on the phone @ summit said that they dont have the premade lines in the catalogue but they still stock it. Measure how long u will need (remember that braided line cant make tight turns...), get the right adaptors for -3 to what ever size pipe thread that you have on the back of your gauge & at your engine, pipe dope it up & its done for good. No copper to break & no plastic to melt/break. Just one mans opinion but it is too critical an area for jobberjoe stuff.

Well if you have a problem with breaking the copper line, then try this: Get a piece of rubber fuel line or vacuum tubing that will just fit over the copper line then slide it over the copper line and then you should be able to bend the coil spring shape in the line to reduce shock in the line without kinking it. Then just place your fittings on the ends of the copper tubing and hook it up. The rubber hose will absorb the vibrations and keep the line from breaking. I have have had mine on my GMC for 14 years with it setup that way and have never had a problem.
