Question on the Rear Leaf Springs
On our Deluxe 49 3100 we have a single leaf spring on each side. Our standard 49 3100 has a second smaller Leaf Spring on each side above the larger leaf spring. Does anyone know if this is a special order for heavy duty in 49?

Re: Question on the Rear Leaf Springs
They were an option from the factory and were also put on aftermarket

Re: Question on the Rear Leaf Springs
The second spring is an overload spring. There are or were brackets on the frame for it to contact when the truck got loaded to a certain point. Pretty much the same theory as the Helwig overload springs http://www.hellwigproducts.com/
