Re: beauty rings, see these all the time but never in catalogs
I got curious last night and spent a half hour on Ebay looking at tons of beauty rings and didn't see anything that was close to that.
If they are an original equipment item I'd think that they were made to go behind a small hubcap to dress it up and make it look like a full hubcap. For 12.95 extra you got the rings behind the poverty cap so it didn't look like a poverty cap. The Salesman at the Olds dealer in Renton, Wa had a fit in late 1968 when I had my dad special order a 69 Cutlass S with poverty caps, black walls and no chrome around the wheel wells. I think the car had the shortest option list of any Olds ever sold at that dealership. 69 Cutlass S hardtop, 350 4 barrel, dual exhaust, 4 speed manual, 3.42 Posi rear end and AM-FM multiplex radio. all for 3656.70 out the door. He was still trying to sell me the wheel moldings and full hubcaps when I picked up the car and went straight to the tire store and put chrome reverse wheels on it. |

That's stock for 57-59 truck with deluxe wheelcovers and 15" wheels (aka "Cameo Carrier").
http://www.oldchevytrucks.com/blog/i...-1960-hubcaps/ Jim Carter is considering reproducing them. Send a note and ask about progress. |

Now who would have thought of something that easy to figure out? I sure didn't.

Should have been easy. That's the front fender of a 57 TF in the picture.
Actually, I remembered that page from when I was trying to find stainless baby moon hubcaps for my truck. |
