The NV3500 is a good transmission when used within it's limits.
Hydraulic clutch. Torque max is 290-300 ft lb. I think the S10 NV3500 has a longer tailshaft than the CK version. The S10 version may also have a higher first gear. I believe the CK NV3500 has a lower "granny" 1st gear but you'll need to verify that. Don't bother with the 88-91 GM HM290 or 5LM60.
