uncoiling tubing
does anyone have an easy way to straighten coiled stainless tubing?

The tubing straightners are not cheap ($250-$300 for the ones I have seen). I haven't actually tried it yet but I have heard of people getting a wooden dowel that will fit inside the tube and rolling it on a flat service to straighten it.

I hear you can drill an appropriately sized hole in a block of wood and pull the tubing through. But I've never tried so may not work at all.

Chuck one end up in a vice- roll the other end around something you can pull on- yank hard!

I hold the coil in my hand, bend down and step on the end of the tube and walk out the length I want. You will be suprised just how well this works.
