I cant stop myself. I need help.
I chronicled our 64 short fleet build from feb til finished and sold in June.
I then bought and finished a lowered 60 F100, 292 Y-block 4spd etc. Hated it. It was like driving a farm tractor...haha So it left after 5 weeks and I ended up with a 59 Impala hardtop and a 60 4dr sedan. Didn't do much to either so sold those and bought a 60 Chevy Kingswood 9-passenger wagon with a 65 327 sbc. Ran it for a few weeks with tall skinny bias whitewalls, but they were too skinny. Hated it. So sold those and put chrome 17" Coys on. Then a guy from 3hrs away offered me a 66 Suburban and cash for wagon. So wagon left and I have a burb...again. The burb is a 250 inline six, TH400 auto, factory green-ish torquise color. He bought from original owner, so I'm 3rd owner. Original paint, stock interior. Needs fenders and pass door lower corner fixed. Floors, cab mounts, quarters and above windshield are nice. So back to a C10 for me.... For awhile....haha Posted via Mobile Device

Re: I cant stop myself. I need help.
We all need help brother. But it looks like you scored a sweet burb and that spot light is killer. I've never seen one like that before. Should we start a timer on the board to see how long you'll keep the burb?

Re: I cant stop myself. I need help.
The light says GM on it and my kid said that it shows on the original window sticker.
We have the og sticker, all service records and a journal the original owner kept from the day he bought it and lasted 27yrs. Pretty cool... I just put 75 miles on it on highway, runs down road great. But I guess it should being the guy drove it 3.5hrs on highway here...haha Kinda sucks because it has 4 brandnew L78-15 Coker whitewalls, but I'm going to sell the front 2 because they'll be way to tall once I bag it. Going with a G78-15 for fronts. Posted via Mobile Device

Apparently I need to look for myself...haha
It says GE not GM on the light...lol He saw the bulb and assumed it meant factory option. So back to your scheduled programming. Haha Posted via Mobile Device

Re: I cant stop myself. I need help.
Here's what I bought my wife for our 20th wedding annv. and what will be behind the burb.
I bought her a 1963 Airstream Globetrotter. It had been sitting for a few years but it is her "Holy Grail". We never thought we'd ever be able to afford one. It was a right place at right time thing. It needs cleaned up and we started on the door side. Alittle at a time. It'll be cool behind burb Posted via Mobile Device

Re: I cant stop myself. I need help.
Started by using Kleen Strip chemical stripper from Walmart. Put on. Scrub. Rinse. Wipe with mineral spirits.
Then again. Then use buffer with Nu-brite tool box polish, then wipe with mineral spirits, then again...and again...and again. What you see on door side is 3 times. And still nowhere near done. Online they say it takes 200-250 hours to polish a 19' airstream. Longer for bigger AS's. I used the burb to pull the camper home last nite. Figured may as well see if it'll handle it. No problems...! You can see the side we havnt touched yet, how oxidized it is. Posted via Mobile Device

See? That's what they WANT you to think!
It's so devious and typical ninja behavior! :P (Seriously, I just found the pic randomly. I have to know the difference come hunting season 'round here lol)

Re: I cant stop myself. I need help.
Nice find Tim, especially the Airstream! Saw the 59' impala on Craigslist, thought that was you. Always wanted a vintage Airstream but my family aren't "campers" so no point. You know theres an Airstream factory in Jackson Center, about an hour or so west of C'bus. I think you can take tour, might be worthwhile if you're restoring one, see it get put together.
Nice Burb too! Posted via Mobile Device |
