C notch a suburban

It looks like it will be hard to c notch a suburban with that crossmember right by we're it goes and the fuel and brake lines on the right side any pics and info on how to do it ?

It's not impossible, but it does take some time. If you check some of my old threads I think I took some pictures of when I did it to mine.

i looked and i did not see any thing on c notch info on suburban if any body has any info or pics for me thanks

Dave - c-notching a burb is basically the same as a truck. The frames are virtually identical except for the body mounts.

for those of you that have posted in this thread - how low do you go with that C-notch? OP - are you looking to be laid out completely, or just as low as possible without major mods?

I dont think you can lay out with a notch, probably get a six inch drop pretty easily though.

CG's right. I know that Rob (Hart_Rod) got real low with his C-notch on 15's, so that combined with total tire height will make a difference as to actual bottom end clearance as well. As Hart_Rod stated, take a look at his build as I've read it and its related links who knows how many times. (Thanks Rob!)

The typical ECE/CPP C-notch, as previously mentioned, can definitely be done without cutting the floor, removing the body, etc... and shouldn't be too bad of a job as long as you get the measurements right. However, doing a 2 piece notch like the Porterbuilt will require floor cutting or removing the body since you cannot get to the top reinforcement bolts otherwise. I really like the Porterbuilt C-notch, but since I was going to have to cut the floor anyway with what I wanted to do, I went ahead and ordered the extreme drop rear from Porterbuilt. It will lay frame in the rear even if I decided to go with 24's (but will stick with 20's regardless).
