Re: OE Shock Relocators
Ok, got another bracket and got the tops done! The rivits took me nearly the afternoon!!! HUGE PITA FOR 4 RIVITS! I hate em
I havent started the bottoms yet. Is it ok if the metal tears (gonna put em in a 22ton press) But it looks like the metal will tear @ the curves. Did yours? I couldnt tell from the pix.

Re: OE Shock Relocators
Scoti,
I am going to do this cheap modification. What shocks do you need to run shorter versions of the original? I have 5" drop in the rear. I assume I have to get a way shorter shock? Another question. On the upper mounts are the left and right the same or semmetrical until the tabs are trimmed off? thanks.

When I do this mod, I used standard, off the shelf shocks as my drops use lowering blocks (lowering blocks on truck arm set-ups have no negative impact on shock travel).

Re: OE Shock Relocators
I got the rest of my mounts done finally today. I had to use a rosebud torch and big hammer to flatten mine. Then I made some gusset/ribs to mount on the bottom of it to take the place of the originals that were flattened. I thought it might make it stiffer.
Thanks again Scoti for the great idea! I'm now trying to figure out my track bar and relocation mount. Here are some pics:

Re: OE Shock Relocators
Nice. How much drop do you have? That helps determine what you need for the Panhard bar mounts.

Re: OE Shock Relocators
I'm using 5 inch lower springs. I like the idea of building my own adjustable super track bar kit like some of the after market companies make.

Re: OE Shock Relocators
Some of the stuff being built by 'aftermarket companies' resembles stuff built by our members too .
