It has alot to do with what engine mount setup you are running. I was running the supercomp headers and switched to solid engine mounts and they lowered the engine in the frame causing the headers to hang down. I ended up building a set so I would have more ground clearance.

Which motor mounts work with super comps. You have part number? Or would you sell your old headers?

I was running stock style poly mounts with the super comp headers. I am going to hang on to them for now, I may end up building my son a truck being I have so many spare parts. Take a picture of the engine mounts you are running now.

Running the Chevelle Hooker #2455 2" x 3 1/2" with the Performance on line tubular mounts . Tubes may be a little small for a 555" . Also have ran the stock BB mounts with these headers.

I built a set of fenderwell headers and ran the exhaust outside the frame rail so it would have plenty of ground clearance
