How to install plastic or rubber firewall plugs?
I have both and the plastic ones fit real tight and the rubber are too soft to pound in. Recommendations?

Have you tried lubing them with soapy water.... or WD-40.... or silicone spray?

Well after you spray them good try a little scred driver to it will help push the part that goes inside the metal to hold it in.

Re: How to install plastic or rubber firewall plugs?
Ironically I just installed a couple plugs in my firewall, picked the plugs up at the hardware store and they popped right in without any issue. They fit snug but were very easy to install.

Should be able to use a piece of string.Use it like you would for a windheild install. That and some lube should work.It also mens thy will not come out easily.

I got some from Brother's Truck parts with 3 little prongs on the back that hold them in the hole. Worked great.
