When installing a u joint do you remove the tranni yoke?
I was wondering if you guys remove the trani yoke when installing the front u joint. If so should I just jack up the rearend so I don't lose any transmission fluid when I pull the yoke out?
Also, how tight is the new u joint suppose to be? My u joint was pretty loose at first when I started the caps but by the time I snuggled the caps down to where the clips would fit on the inside groove the u joint seemed extremely tight. Any help would be great. Thanks! Posted via Mobile Device

I park on an incline with front down. You'll lose a little oil but not a lot. Just pull it out.
Grease the u joint after installing it. It should nice and smooth. Firm. It should turn properly. If you jack up the rear, you should be able to turn the drive shaft with your hands. |

Lot of times after installing the ujoint it will be tight, just give the yoke a hit each direction with a hammer and it should free up. It's just tight from being loaded to get the keepers in.

What he said, after you press them tight enough to install the clips you have to "neutralize" or center everything so it operates smoothly.
