One thing though, if you are taller than 5 foot 10, you may not like it. I had to duck to get into my buddy's 69 GMC with the 60/40 seat. Also, if you are a little short for your weight, or have big thighs, you'll have problems, even with a 15 inch wheel I had some problems, and this was when I was thin.
It was VERY comfortable though...once I was in position anyways. |

I'm test fitting a 99 Silverado's 40/20/40 in my 69. From the firewall where the steering wheel goes through measuring to the front edge of the seat is about 24 inches, where as the stock seat measures about 28 inches. Height is pretty similar. Stock measured about 12 to 13 inches, and this one measures about 15. I definitely need to consider a tilt wheel now.

Here is the 98 60/40 in my truck ,I still have the gas tank behind the seat.
I'm 5 11 , 210 and have a 14 " wheel it is a very comfortable seat but not for someone over 6 ft . Also I need to move the seat forward to lower and raise the consul ( no big deal it's down all the time ) . I love this seat

Heres mine:
![]() ![]() Easy install and there is a good source for making the necessary brackets for the center seat. Contact Fred T here on the board and he has beautiful detailed instructions on this "how to" follow his recommendations to the letter and you can't go wrong! |

I have that seat (same as Bill's) in my 69. Had to make a bracket for the center front leg, and shim the rears. I love the way it sits, and am tall and very long-waisted. 6-2 with a 31" inseam. I even have room to wear a ball cap. The bench seat is an inch lower, but mine was worn out 30 years ago by the looks of it.
