Interior paint questions.
I pulled the old rubber mat out of my truck and found the floor boards to quite solid (for an iowa truck lol) However, there are some spots where the paint is bubbling and peeling that just needs sanded and painted. Now ideally id sand everything down to bare metal and por-15 it but cash is super tight so i was thinking of putting down some black rustoleum for now. Would it hold up well? i have a leak in the cab that leaves water on the floor would rustoleum do a very good job at keeping the rust away? Also was wondering how to find out what my interior paint color is called the sticker in the glove box confused me on which code was the interior paint. Sorry for the long winded question thanks guys.

Re: Interior paint questions.
Pot 15 is great but also getting all the rust out and using a rust converter and then rust oleo on it will do fine. Look at boating shops or body shops for rust converter

Quote:
http://www.ebay.com/itm/POR-15-Paint...&forceRpt=true Seems expensive however it works great. Actually does what is says it will. Ive also used OSPHO in the past. If you take off the majority of the rust with a wire wheel and drill. Then use the OSPHO to convert rust... Then prime and paint should be good. Products like "Rustoleum" don't stop rust. They're just paints. Its the cleaning and converting that helps get rid of the rust and keep it from spreading. Good luck |

Re: Interior paint questions.
they do make rustoleum thats specific for treating rust spots. you could go that way. or do what i did under my sound deadner and use the ruberized undercoat. that was only like 8 bucks a can. youd maybe have 2 cans on the floor if you laid it on thick.
