New guy with a new ride
Ok well im happy.......i feel scored big time. Recently i bought a 79' k5 for parts and to junk. well i felt bad about tearing it apart because i have always wanted a nice one and it really isn't in too bad a shape. So i got on craigslist for kicks and low and behold found a local k5 for sale cheap. after a few phone calls and texts he knocked the price down and i picked up this sweet ride foe $800!!!!! it does have a spun rod but i have a fresh 305 laying around so hopefully she will be rolling by the end of next week. other than the paint being a little faded on the hood and roof it is in great condition. no rust almost no dirt. now to clean her up and get to wrenching. i sold my nice 94 silverado to get it so hopefully she doesn't disappoint.

Man that is a really clean looking K5 looks like you got a hell of a deal. Even in a great color!
I am not too hot on the wheels, but other than that I think you have a great rig. I have had a couple of these K5's they are great rigs.

Re: New guy with a new ride
The truck has $800 in wheels and toyo tires on it. Looking to sell them and pick up some more appropriate wheels for it. They are ok but they look like they belong on a toyota not a k5

Re: New guy with a new ride
Looking at some 18" kmc wheels. I would go 20" but the money aint there. I plan to do a 6" lift 36-37 in tires. Get some chrome tidbits underneath it, redo the interior from red to black, but first i am gonna get the 350 that came in it rebuilt right with a nice cam intake and headers. Looks like my 65 c10 project just slowed down considerably.

Re: New guy with a new ride
Well after months of grief we finally got the motor rswapped in and running right. Fought forever with a vacume leak that turned out to be bad intake gaskets. Rebuilt the carb twice.....but it runs great now. Now to start tinkering. Got some 10in rally wheels for it too.

Wow you defiantly stole that thing for that price good job! Glad your getting rid of the rims and tires they defiantly don't look right under there. Blazer looks super sharp cant wait to see some more pictures of it.
