Re: RARE! 1972 Chevy Cheyanne Corvette model
Did you notice that I added "Corvette" Hub Caps to the Options? Thatīs why I reposted it.

It was worth the laugh to check it out. Seems that the seller pulled it out early due tothe humility?

Re: RARE! 1972 Chevy Cheyanne Corvette model
Hello,
I am new and haven't said anything on this site yet so please bare with me. I was surfing the net to find out how rare my 72 Chevy short bed step side truck was and came across this forum. Can anyone tell me how rare and what my truck is worth? It has a 350 c.i. engine /350 t.h. trans, 4x4, p.s., p.d. brakes, factory air, all original, golden oak bed, bucket seats w/console, tilt wheel, power windows. I bought it last year and have been wondering if I should invest in a complete restoration or just leave it alone and use it? Last edited by daddude; 10-27-2012 at 05:55 PM. Reason: update, I just noticed this thread is 4 years old, duh! |

Re: RARE! 1972 Chevy Cheyanne Corvette model
hi daddude, welcome to the forum. sounds like a nice truck. you'd probably get a few more replies by selecting "New Thread" rather than tagging a "Post Reply" onto an existing thread. Just so ya know. BUT, to your question, While I wouldn't venture a guess at what it's worth without a pic or three, I can tell you buckets are kinda rare - golden oak beds never came from the factory (they were painted body color if the truck came with an optional wood floor bed) - 350/350 in a 4x4 is the norm (I don't believe 402s were offered in a K model, nor was the TH400, but someone else can crosscheck me on that, not positive) - power disk brakes std equipement for a 72 K model - tilt is a very nice to have option - I'd be willing to bet the power windows were an add-on. As to restore or leave as is - that's up to you and the originality of the truck. But drive it and enjoy it until you decide.

Re: RARE! 1972 Chevy Cheyanne Corvette model
As for the rare Corvette option, my oldest brother had a 75 Stingray 350 .The other brother had a 69 Camaro SS 350. Both were "L48" engines, but due to smog regulations, the 69 had 10.25 compression, a better cam and 300 hp (gross). The vette had 8.5:1 compression and 145 hp (net) The Camaro would leave it in it's dust. You could keep the "Corvette option" if it ever existed.

That Vette-10 is awesome! It's like a Corvette and El Camino mated, and this is the result. I normally don't care for Corvettes too much, but this is neat!
