Re: whitewall grinding in Oregon???
There used to be this old guy that would show up at shows in calif, Paso ,Pismo ect. But I don't know if he's still around he was pretty old some 10 years or so ago. I really wish there were more people doing it . I'd like to find someone or a machine to start doing it myself. I had a pic of a homemade machine I'll see if i can find it, if i do I'll post it.

Re: whitewall grinding in Oregon???
It's 191 miles from my house and might save me a few hundred bucks on wide whites. Thanks for remembering the info.

I called http://benavideztires.com/ in Woodburn and they quoted me $80 for all 4 carry in. You have to drop them and pick them back up in a couple days as its not a job they do while you wait. Headed up there soon, I will report back!

That would mean two road trips for me unless they have a way to deliver.

Re: whitewall grinding in Oregon???
Picked them up Friday night, pulled of the bias plys on Saturday and this thing drives soooo much better and looks cool too! I was on the fence about the aqua wheel instead of black, but with the hub caps painted white and the polished stainless ring they look pretty good.
. . Had to hit the local Drive in for a shake and show of the new shoes! . . . If your on a budget and don't want to drop the heavy coin on some whide whitess, $20 a tire is money well spent on grinding them. Posted via Mobile Device |

Re: whitewall grinding in Oregon???
Great job on the truck, you've got it looking sharp. The wheels look good, better than black would look IMO.
I wish there was someone in the Atlanta area that ground tires like that, but it seems that it's only done on the west coast. |

Re: whitewall grinding in Oregon???
Nice looking wheel and tire combo. that really dresses up the truck.
I need to get a bit closer to having the 48 on the road before I have it done but it looks like a great option to paying the asking price that the back east guys are asking and I believe that Diamondback does the same thing that they are doing at their shop. |
