I'd say HEI, just go all the way, and have the advantage that if it breaks, you can get parts at pretty much any Chevy dealer.

I went with Pertronix II about 2 years ago. No problems and it has the factory look if that's important to you.

I went with stock HEI and upgraded it with a Pertronix Flamethrower tune up kit ( module, cap, rotor, vacuum advance, wire harness etc.) and it works great.

I've got a unilite distributor in mine. But watch out, most aftermarket ignition boxes require a magnetic pickup. Unilites aren't magnetic so if you plan on upgrading later you could be screwed. It will however work with a msd 6a. HEI is great, especially the part about getting parts wherever you want. I have an accel distributor in my car and when the module went out it was a week away by mail order. Something to think about.

I would stay away from the Unilite, I have heard horror stories about spikes in the electrical system burning out the "light" inside and destroying the distributor.
I went with the Mallory Magnetic Breakerless, works awesome for me if you want to spend the money, its well worth it. ------------------ Tony 1970 C10 LWB -Worked 350 -Dropped 3/6 -Tangier Orange Paint Visit my Web Site: www.low70.com College student at Clemson (SC) Home in Langhorne Pa Instant message me on AIM at MilkMe131 GOD BLESS AMERICA
