bhc----yes i have a v8. I was wondering how the 6 was mounted in the front, as it being longer. sounds right to me. i guess thats how you can tell if the truck came with a 6 or 8. my front cross-member is riveted to the frame and one rivet goes through the steering box mount. here is a pic------
and thanks for the info on the brake hardware--just have to figure out what i have. looks like they have a few different ones---
