This might sound dumb but,
Can I ask your guys opinion on a truck that is on here for sale? Or is that kind of not a cool thing to do? I have some concerns and some ideas of what I may do if I buy it and was wanting some opinions, but I don't want to offend anyone especially the trucks owner.
Thanks, Jon

Ok. Here goes that should be a link to the truck in question. I was wondering about the stock 6 cylinder. I know they aren't power houses by any stretch of the imagination, but should I leave it due to originality? Would this truck hold it's value (whatever that may be) if I left it there? Also what about converting to 4 wheel drive with a '73 up 1 ton front axle and transfer case would that hurt resale if I want to sell it?

Re: This might sound dumb but,
292 is a good motor, and has pretty good torque. They were put in alot of 3/4 or 1 ton trucks, i know a couple guys running them.

Re: This might sound dumb but,
Resale is gonna be in the eye of who ever is looking at it.. If you are wanting a 4x4 theny swap it.. If you are wanting a small block or big block and not the straight 6 then swap it out after all it will be your truck when all is said and done..

Re: This might sound dumb but,
Thanks for the opinions guys it helps some to hear other perspectives. If I buy it it will almost definitely be converted to 4x4 as far as engine well...hmm I don't really know. Any swap will cost some, but what would be best. Maybe a well built 383 stroker or a Duramax or Cummins swap or 468 stroker. Any of these would be cool engines, but the stroked big block would be the roughest on the pocket book at the pumps I think.
