For people running stock height, what tire size
It's time to get the Green Booger (70 GMC half ton swb) back on the road. I plan on keeping it stock ride height and want to run rally's with a taller tire (don't like a big empty wheel well), so I need to know what size tire to get and pics if possible. Thanks!

Re: For people running stock height, what tire size
Mine is lowered with slots now, but before I restored and lowered it I was running the 6-lug rallys with 255-70-15 BFG's. Looked right with the stock height.

Re: For people running stock height, what tire size
Mine are 215/75/15 with 5-lug rallies. It's going to be time for new rubber come spring and I'll probably go with something a little taller.
BTW, I discoverd that the bigger tires will affect your speedometer. According the gps app on my iPhone, the speedometer is 4 mph slow.

Running 30x9.5 on 15x8 American Racing wheels. I had 31x10.5 on it before but picked up this set used for only $20!

Re: For people running stock height, what tire size
Hey Krue. Been a while.
A 255/70/15 works well on 8" rallys. I believe they're 29" tall. I have them on 8" Outlaws on my 69 right now. It's a good look.

Re: For people running stock height, what tire size
I just swapped from the 275 60 15 's that I had on there since it was lowered. I brought it back up to stock height, and just wanted something a little taller, got a set of 255 70 15 's now and I like the look better at stock height. they are a little taller and a little less wide. although when it was low those 275 60 15's looked really nice. I think it looks about right stock height with the 255 70 15's.

Re: For people running stock height, what tire size
I used 225 75/r16 on my 16 inch rims. Had 31/7.5 on it before, narrow but they would rub on sharp turns.
