61 motor mount ???

i just swapped out the old front clip for a 1980 disc brake model. thanks to all for the thread made it all very easy. just wondering about the motor mounts because the frame rail on the 80 clip was alot taller and the old mounts don't line up. any suggestions.

Re: 61 motor mount ???

I've seen a few where people used a block of steel for a spacer between the upper rail and the newer motor mount.

Re: 61 motor mount ???

If you want to stay with the later style motor mounts, look for the frame brackets from a C20. They are shorter than the C10 brackets, but will still require a spacer on top of the frame. If you would rather stick with the older style pickup motor mounts, get a set of frame brackets for a '67-'72 with a small block. You shouldn't need a spacer with those.
