Carb question for 305 V6

I have a Holley 500 cfm (I think) 4 barrel carb and an adapter to mount it on a 2 barrel manifold. I was wondering if this would be a good upgrade later on for my 60 gmc's V6??? Thanks.

Re: Carb question for 305 V6

Rcbildr, Jolly's 6066 GMC site has all kinds of information on these engines. In the performance upgrades section http://www.6066gmcguy.org/performance.htm they talk about a Holley 500 2bbl. This is what I have on my truck, but that is the way I got it, so I cannot give you a comparison.

Re: Carb question for 305 V6

If you are referring to this type adapter to squeeze the 4 down to a 2 barrel, i think you should stick with the Holley two-barrel and appropiate adapter or enlarge the intake to accept the 4 barrel like Rockdriller did on his GMC V6 project.

Like Chevyman5 stated; the 6066 website also has a photo album and a member shows how he modified his stock intake for a four barrel carb.
