so if I reverse my leaf springs in the rear, below the axel vs on top... what will it equal as far as inches lower for the rear..... as it stands, my rear sits about 1 1/2 to 2" higher then the front?

Re: 72 Drop ???
About 3.5-4" drop. Depends on how you do it. (thickness of the tube of the axle at the very least. )

Re: 72 Drop ???
so doing that and cutting a coil out of the fron should give me an equal drop.... fairly cheap way to lower the truck?

Re: 72 Drop ???
Thickness of the tube (3") plus thickness of the spring and the perch height off the housing (about anothe 2 1/2") so figure 5".

Re: 72 Drop ???
1 coil would usually be 2" drop... maybe a little more. What if you did 2" drop spindles and one coil? It would be around 4 up front and 5 rear.

Re: 72 Drop ???
Yes, that is a fairly efficient way to drop the truck as far as $ go. But to get the front down 4" or so to match the rear drop really requires spindles IMO. I am doing the flip in my '69 and converting to disc brakes which means I had to buy spindles. So, 2 1/2" spindles and 2" springs in front and flip in the rear. I have an additional 1 1/2" shackle drop if I need it.

Re: 72 Drop ???
I want to just flop the rear under the axel and then drop the front as needed to level out. So maybe a coil or two removed from the front
