Newbie Question- Grille pieces reproduced?
Im looking at a 70 truck locally and the guy has the outer grill, but not the middle part (the grate) and the part that says chevrolet
I see that the grates are reproduced, but i cant find the part that says "chevrolet" Are those not being reproduced? Any suggestions on what to buy and where? If i have to hunt down an old grill, i will, but mine is going to be a driver... thanks jeff |

Re: Newbie Question- Grille pieces reproduced?
You could just buy the blank repro and add the decals. Looks just as good and alot cheaper. That's what I did.

Re: Newbie Question- Grille pieces reproduced?
ive seen this page in the catalog. the truck im looking at has what looks to be #1 or #2 without the center bar. Its like someone bought the #2 and then tinsnipped the "chevrolet" out ...
did they actually make the "chevrolet" piece separate? or am i looking at someones hacked up customized grille? Also, is the "chevrolet" really nothing but stickers? even from the factory? I would have thought they were stamped. thanks! |

Re: Newbie Question- Grille pieces reproduced?
Example #1 is how they came from the factory and the word "CHEVROLET" is stamped in and painted black. Also, the headlight bezels (9 and 10 in the above graphic) were black from the factory.
Here's mine as an example. Last edited by cericd; 12-04-2012 at 11:51 AM. Reason: Clarification |

Re: Newbie Question- Grille pieces reproduced?
Without the center bar of the 69-70 grill it would probably look better with a 71-72 inner grill.
