I do that a lot with my projects. I get a lot of satisfaction from having very little money in straight, clean vehicles.
It's a helluva lot of work, though. Folks that see or hear about the end results generally don't have a clue what it takes to get it done.
I have a project similar to yours - a very straight '91 burb. Mine is 2ED, I'm gonna buy a 4WD frame with a junk body and just swap it over.
We'd like to do a bit of camping and my theory is that if we see a bear, I won't have to outrun it - close the back gate and let my Chevy outrun him!!!
