Engine color
I should know but dont. What was the last yr chevy painted the engines orange, and what was the last yr they used single stage paint before switching to base coat/clear coat?

For cars it was 74, had mostly orange, some very lates had blue. 75 started with the fugly blue. Not sure about truck engines. Not sure about the switch to base/clear system.

All the engines in these rigs (67-72) had Chevy Orange engines.
The Corporate Blue didn't start until the mid 70's. Gary

Regarding the switch to base/clear... I had an 86 dually that was single stage. I think the next generation (88 and up) may have been the start of base/clear.

chevy orange was still used in trucks in 75 and the single stage i want to say went away in 79-80, check me on that
