Installing Sliding Glass on K5 topper

Need some helpful hints for re-installing the sliding glass on my K5. I got the top painted last night and tried reinstalling the glass for about 15 minutes before it got dark.

I'm trying to get the top back on before this weekends 4x4 event in Summertown, TN.

I appreciate your inputs.

Here's the url if anyone else wants to join in the fun.

Everyone that likes wheeling is invited.

Close but no cigar. I tried the rope trick and almost had it. I started at the bottom and worked my way around the sides. Got the top corners in and had about 8 inches or so to go along the top and the dadgum thing would have been in. Started pulling to finish it off and the rope cut through the the outer lip of the seal and ruined the weatherstrip. Really ticked me off.

i put the seal in the topper first...and where ever it sags i use a piece of tape to hold it up for a bit...i lube the seal with wd40 really good....then a use a cotter key removeal tool to slide her in place...remove the tape....lisle tools makes a tool i use to install the lock ring strip...makes it cake work....done this a few times...since aas a mech i allways have a small screwdriver in my shirt pocket..its easier to remove the glass than break the glass when i lock myself out...

This reminds me that the Passenger side slider on mine, the latch is not there. I gotta get that fixed. But it is always a good thing if I lock myself out. Just slide her back and pop the passenger door open. At least now I know how to replace the whole Window if I ever have to!
