Aftermarket speedo question

I have an Autometer speedo in my 77. The end that accepts the cable is threaded but my cable is not. I have searched for a threaded cable but have had no luck. Anyone have any ideas? I wedged it on there and put a cable clamp on it but it eventually worked itself loose.

Re: Aftermarket speedo question

Have you tried the factory clamp that screws on the stock gauge?
Also try tape to create a tight fit maybe?

Re: Aftermarket speedo question

The factory gauge is long gone. I have not tried tape yet. Looks like someone would make an adapter but I have not found one yet...

Re: Aftermarket speedo question

Autometer says the threading is 5/8 by 18 so I looked it up on ebay and found this (http://www.ebay.com/itm/SPEEDOMETER-...502#vi-content) would that work? Didn't know how long you needed.
