edelbrock intake manifold

ok so I was going to replace it and was curious where I can find some info on this intake S . P . 2 - 2 thats what it says ont he intake. can anyone point me to the specs on it?

Usually they have a model number on the bottom. It will be a four digit number. Post it if you find it.

Nope--

SP2P Edelbrock manifolds are all dual plane. They were built in the 70s during the gas crunch. They have small high velocity runners for fuel economy. They were made for small and big block Chevys for sure, maybe others.

This is one of them, from the private collection of nebulous **** that TX Firefighter has gathered together and hoarded over the years:

so they are old. ok. are they worth keeping on their? this truck for now is a daily driver. After I get the new radiator for my tercel she will sit for the weekend runs.

I don't even know how much power they really gain you over stock. I love them, but only because they are unusual. Everyone has a Performer intake. Almost no one has ever even seen an SP2P.

I would venture to say it is better than the stock intake.
Figure the stock intake we would be useing is the exact same thing that thy were improving on back then.
It just wouldn't be as good as a more modern intake.

I had a sp2p on my 86 GMC that orginally came on my 72 burb. But the intake went with the truck when I sold it.
