Auto drain valves for compressors
Who's using one and what style etc are you using?Satisfied?Any suggestions?

There are several types of auto drains. My favorite is a pneumatic valve actuated from the compressor unloader. What you are probably asking about would be an electric drain valve. As far as the little timed solenoid, they are all about the same most give 3-5 years of service, I wouldn't buy one without a strainer. If you have a dirty service look at a motorized ball valve like a Tek 44 from Jorc. These things live forever even in nasty services. Their orifice is large enough to pass rust scale, and trash that send those little solenoid types packing. I highly recommend contacting Marcuse and Son compressor parts, in FT Worth, TX. Prices are good customer service is the best around (website not so good). If you call them, they will take the time to talk to you and get you what best works for you. (no affiliation to the poster, I just believe in small business)

I'll never get one.
Years ago when I ran a body shop my first order of business was to unlock the yard and building and get the compressors running. Both compressors had a simple 1/4 turn ball valve to drain which I opened at the end of the day and closed in the morning after checking the oil level. Made for a lifetime habit of checking the compressor oil every time it was ran
