NOS/NIB Original GM '64-66 Deluxe Heater Controls W/Knobs/Levers

NOS in the box '64-66 deluxe heater controls. Has dark/textured fawn paint which is correct for '66 only. I bought this thinking that I'd use it for my truck but I want to repaint the dash/interior and that means I'd have to paint the heater controls to match. I'd hate to repaint a NOS part so I'm letting it go to a good home that will love it for what it is and keep it original. I did take the hinge pin out, cleaned the bore of the levers, and reassembled it with fresh grease to lubricate the arms. Edit- price dropped to $160 shipped USPS priority with tracking and insurance.

Not sure about that Yelmer, I've never noticed those differences before. There's a used one on eBay right now that has the bowties and "FAN" stamped onto the center knob. The box is dated '68, maybe there were changes after regular production stopped, like how many NOS 64-66 aluminum headlight bezels have cutouts for adjusters? Interesting for sure.

GMC used the one without the bowties. GM may have only produced those w/o bowties after the '66 run, for service parts-would be OK for either truck.

Guys, 64fleetside is correct - the lens w/ no bowties is GMC specific - GM never made them for any other reason - post production units intended for sale at Chevy dealerships still had the bowties.

The knob you see marked "fan" is borrowed from a 62-63 Chevy or GMC. Those years the heater control head did not tell you with a lens what lever was for what, so they marked the knobs. The 62-63 knobs will fit 64-66 levers.

Hope this solves the mystery for you

Good stuff guys. So is the color a GMC color? It looks like the '66 only Chevy dark/textured fawn.
