Was measuring up my stock frame on 55 2nd and see it is out 3/8 of an inch from axel centre to middle of frame.Measured crossways.Is that okay or am I going to have to get it straightened.

Most frame measurements are measured in an X pattern not from the center. Find two points that are same on both sides and then start from there. Good Luck!

Yea I measured in an X from the 2 same holes on both sides of the center of the frame to the axel centerline holes and there is a difference of 3/16. I am hoping this wont be a problem.

3/16 th isn't knowing to worry about, remember the age of the truck the rivets proable settled in their permanet location.

Thanks Rudedude.Didnt want to get too far into it and find out it was going to cause problems.I guess these old trucks werent built to exact tolerances anyways.Thanks again.By the way your build is looking good.

These old trucks were supposed to flex and move over humps, ditches, logs, etc. I have had mine twisted like a dna strand and it always popped back. Here is an example, bed is attached to the back frame section, cab to the front. There is a good chance that after you get it running for a while you can take the same measurement and find they have self corrected. If you are really worried about it use the 3-4-5 rule to figure out what is square and see if you can move it to get closer. measure corner to corner and pull the long measurement to square it up, just like framing a house wall or floor.

3/8 inch is probably better than it rolled of the factory floor, don't sweat it.

Brain said 3/16 finger said 3/8.there is a 3/16 difference in the x measurements.Took one class of typing in grade 9 . So I shouldnt have to worry about the difference.

3/16 is within spec.
