the frame bent?
I'm pretty sure that the frame is bent should I replace? Fix (beat on it) or not worry?

Its really hard to tell from your pics, but that looks like the factory "dip" in thew frame.

Re: the frame bent?
Yah all the trucks have it. My frame was bent once. I drove up the side of a train embankment and left it there for three days behind a shop. Took it back for an alignment and it was good lol.

Re: the frame bent?
Wow, I have the same thing and thought mine was bent. Kind of a relief . My frame did get bent around the crossmember area once though.

I had the same question a few years ago, and was told it was to clear factory catalytic converters. So no, your frame is not bent.

Re: the frame bent?
I had the same question! Since my truck is bagged, that was the lowest point on the truck, so I had to modify it. lol

Re: the frame bent?
yea i just bought a parts truck this summer for cheap i was going to junk the frame but hell after finding this out it will not be visiting the scrap pile
can you bend it or beat it back straight and be okay? just because its not very appealing to the eye when you look under the truck and see a bend in the frame |

Re: the frame bent?
You may hav to notch it and weld a couple Tim's when bending it. But it will make the frame a bit stronger

Re: the frame bent?
identical bend, next to the exhaust on the left
heat shield for the cat con is still in place because it bolts in from the top and I don't want to jack up the cab to remove it.... |

Re: the frame bent?
If you've got time you don't have to jack up the cab. I used an open end wrench and pulled out the 3 screw/bolts that hold it in place. I just used a big prybar to pry a up a little spot on the cab and I was able to get it out.

Re: the frame bent?
I was lowering my truck when I noticed it. Battling a lean to the drivers side I thought maybe this had something to do with it. I was afraid to bring it up...lol.didnt know if I would want to hear the responses...

Re: the frame bent?
I was thinking the other day that I hadn't seen this question come up in awhile.
