hyrdromatic automatic transmission
Hi guys i was wondering does anybody know any information on an original automatic transmission for advance design trucks 47-54 i think they came out in 54 in the trucks but any information would be great

All I know is I have one laying in the floor of my shop behind the pontiac motor I pulled out of my latest project. Supost to be good

nope 56, I will take some pic. soon. The v8 didn't come till 55.2

some of the 6 cyclinders in 54 had an automatic transmission

I believe Hydramatic was first offered in GMC trucks in 1952 but I don't know for sure. I'll be pulling the engine/tranny out of my car sometime this spring. I'll have pictures then.

I have a 54 GMC Hydramatic, trannys all dirty but ill take some pics of it. A guys coming from AZ next weekend for the whole chassis, motor, and tranny. Has 34,268 thousand original miles!
