Help: Electronic Oil Pressure Gauge install Pic

Anyone have pics that shows what wires or how an OEM electronic oil pressure gauge hook ups should look after installed?

I just purchased a new OPG. I was working with a friend who disconnected my dash and I want to verify how the OPG suppose to be reinstalled.

Yes, the truck has an electronic opg setup. I'm not converting from mechanical to electronic. Just reinstalling.

Thanks.

Re: Help: Electronic Oil Pressure Gauge install Pic

I don't have any pictures of an installed electric oil pressure gauge, but I can tell you that it mounts in the cluster very similar to the nearby voltmeter and temperature gauge.

There are no wires leading directly to any of the gauges themselves. Instead, the under-dash harness has a plug that connects into the back of the cluster. The terminals in that plug make contact with traces on the printed circuit that's on the back of the cluster housing. Those printed circuit traces lead out to the individual gauge & light connections. There are some little springy metal clips that are snapped into the back of the cluster housing. Those make the contact between the printed circuit traces and the small studs that are on the back of the gauges.

Good and Bad. Thanks for info & pics. That verified i did install correctly. After installing new oil pressure gauge & new oil sending unit, the gauge is pegging out to the right/Hot side as soon as I crank up. Any troubleshooting advice?

hmm, sounds like you might have an open circut. try tracing the sending unit wire, it might be touching an exhaust or getting pinched, exact same thing happened with my fuel gauge, sent the needle right over

Right sending unit? I think there is a "guage" and a "light" sending unit. New install or replacement? By new i mean has it ever worked?

Re: Help: Electronic Oil Pressure Gauge install Pic

Isn't the single wire one at the rear of the intake for the gauge and the two-wire one down lower for the choke?
