2-tone availability
Quick one....what years could you get a truck with a 2-tone paint job in the scheme of the below? Not just a white roof with xxxxxx lower color, but a white roof, then color, then white stripe through the bed and door, then color again? Thanks.

the exact paint scheme you are talking about was avaliable from 69-72, 67-68's used different moulding and had a different paint scheme

Are you guys sure about that? I have 69 and 70 brochures and they only show two tone paints either with a colored body/white top or some have white under the lower moulding in addition to the cab. I'd like to see an original 69-70 with the paint scheme in that picture.
I always thought that paint scheme pictured didn't arrive until the 71-72's

I have a Chevy P/U book at home that says the 2-tone paint between the trim was only available on '71-'72 trucks....i personally don't beleive it though. I have seen several junkyard 69-70 trucks with original paint and the full two-tone paint package. Just not as many as the 71-72 trucks. My '72 is a bit of an oddball, i have Ochre paint and a white top, with both top and bottom factory trim, yet the truck isn't a full two-tone...i kinda like it that way though....whenever it gets repainted it will stay the same color scheme that it is now

Well for what its worth my 70 was original gold and white and the white is below the lower trim, I can still see it behind the cab

Tha is true. you could get them like this too.
69 - 72 had 2 options on the two-tone paint jobs. And you could get other colors than white as the secondary color. Here is a C/20 longhorn...1970, last known owner is a previouse board member known as Pig Pen. This is the second paint job, but it is just like the original. He sent me pics of the original paint...just this one was already sixed for the board restrictions. |

dinnut, only if it is a 68...and even then, gold and white doesn't make it a 50th alone.

I will need to dig through some pictures and scann one of the 72 Suburban I have in Chico or take a digital next week when Im there. I did one in Ford desert tan with the GM Dark Green in the center. Looked great if I do say so myself. My Nephew is using it since he NEVER paid me yet. That way I can still call it mine.
