Way better value in just using the 5.7 vortec. The 305 intake ports are shrouded by the block.
The intake manifold is Vortec specific so you won't use the earlier smallblock intake without drilling and tapping the heads. Google CS130 or AD244 alternator. That 98 could have either depending on whether the PO upgraded to an AD unit. Both are higher output than the 65Amp SI units in our trucks.
