Starter Help!

So I am going from the factory starter to a starter like this:

http://www.ebay.com/itm/SBC-BBC-CHEV...7538dc&vxp=mtr

I know my factory starter had 2 little wires and 1 big wire. What will i need to make this work? Is one of the little wires a ground? I know I need the larger cable from battery and a wire that is hot with key all the way forward but not sure what the 3rd wire is for... I hope to start my truck tonight...

Re: Starter Help!

There should be an S&I near the small terms. The purple wire goes to the S term. It comes from the switch to engauge the starter. The white or yellow wire goes to the I term. It is a bypass term for the ign. It may not be needed if you have HEI. If there is no marking on the selinoid try it one way & if it doesn't work reverse the wires.

Re: Starter Help!

go to FAQ and find the way to properly wire your HEI distributor and the starter will work great and as a bonus so will the HEI

Re: Starter Help!

Got it all set up thanks all. I have access to a shop and my project 1 night a week. There are often little details I need to look up last minute and this site is great for fast response...
